Railroad Construction Company, Inc. is continuing work on a $2,000,000 contract awarded by the Kyle Conti Construction for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to perform track work on the Expressrail Phase 2A project in Port Newark, NJ.  The intermodal facility is being expanded to include four new working tracks and includes other rail infrastructure improvements.  Two turnouts and 7,000’ of track have been removed and two new turnouts and approximately 9,000’ of new track have been constructed.  In addition, two existing turnouts will be relocated.  Portions of the work have been performed during weekend outages, allowing the facility to maintain operations with minimal disruptions.  The project is nearly 90% complete and is scheduled to be finished in September 2014.

We would like to thank Kyle Conti, Reggie Elsman and Paul Thompson of Kyle Conti Construction, John Tulko of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and Dave Reilly of Conrail for their assistance thus far.  We also thank our subcontractors and vendors including Rick Kilpatrick of LB Foster, Lizabeth Albanese of Unitrac and Jim Jordie of Stella Jones.
