PANYNJ - Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal B Modernization - International Arrivals Meet & Greet

Oct 17, 2014

RCC Builders & Developers, Inc. recently attended the grand reopening of Terminal B at Newark Airport, celebrating the completion of a nearly two year renovation and modernization project.  We are proud to have been a part of this important project.

Our work involved a 40,000 SF renovation in the International Arrivals area.  New partitions (creating wider corridors) and a new ringed ceiling were constructed.  Lighting, sprinklers and public address system were upgraded.  A terrazzo floor was built in the busy Meet & Greet concourse for International Arrivals.  New signage completed the project.

The terminal remained open throughout construction.  Despite critical planning, frequent flight delays caused unanticipated foot traffic in areas that had been designated for work.  This forced us to quickly adjust our schedule and ultimately develop a backup plan for each day’s activities.  Close coordination with the Port Authority and the reorganization of tasks allowed the project to be completed on time.

This renovation has increased both passenger capacity and convenience.  The new wider passageways, the enhanced lighting and better placement of signs have improved the flow of traffic for the 10,000 daily arrivals at Terminal B.

RCC Builders & Developers, Inc. would like to extend our thanks to Daniel Nunez, Fabian Karcic, Caesar Johnson, Alfred Daini, Brian Tierney, Eve Murphy, Mildred Bourdoin, Veronica Stewart and Nizar Alkhatib of the Port Authority of New York &  New Jersey.

Additional thanks to the subcontractors who participated in the project including DeSesa Engineering, R.L.
