    Railroad Construction Co. had completed nearly seventy-five percent of the work on the massive Colonial Road Design / Build Improvement Project. This $25 million contract with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority-Long Island Rail Road will replace a steel truss bridge and add a pocket track.

  • Paterson Habitat for Humanity’s Corporate Challenge

    For the past twenty-one years, Paterson Habitat for Humanity has held their Corporate Challenge, a three-week event where businesses from the tri-state area send volunteers to help construct Habitat homes. In June, Railroad Construction Co. once again participated in the event, sending eleven volunteers to Paterson’s 4th Ward.

  • RCC Co-Workers Help “Stuff the Bus” for the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson & Passaic

    In August, prior to the start of the 2015-2016 school year, the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson & Passaic conducted their annual “Stuff the Bus” campaign to collect and distribute school supplies to the children in their program. This year, co-workers in our Paterson office joined in the event.

  • Safety Week at RCC Jobsites

    Railroad Construction Co. places a great emphasis on safety and safety training. Throughout the year, the Safety Department conducts generalized instruction as well as specialized sessions on job specific topics. With a goal of zero lost time accidents, this training strives to demonstrate that the right equipment, the right training and the right attitude will ultimately prevent accidents on the job.

  • Railroad Construction Sponsors Senior Design Project for Stevens Institute’s Innovation Expo

    Each April, students at Stevens Institute of Technology participate in the Innovation Expo, the school’s annual showcase of research, critical planning and creative problem solving. Teams of graduating seniors compete in both Project Planning and Elevator Pitch events in which they are tasked with designing and promoting applications for actual jobs. This year, Railroad Construction Co. partnered with Stevens to sponsor a senior design project, collaborating with a student team to develop plans for our recently completed PSE&G Southern Reinforcement Overhead Transmission job.

  • Railroad Construction Hosts MWDBE Outreach Event

    “Excellent event! I enjoyed meeting the folks at RCC this morning and learning about some of your projects.” Lisa Pompei - Garden State Engineering, Surveying & Planning On April 30, 2015, Railroad Construction Co. hosted an MWDBE (Minority / Woman Owned / Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) East Coast Outreach Event at the main office in Paterson, NJ. The event was designed to meet business owners in order to develop new and ongoing partnerships. This meet and greet would be mutually beneficial to us and these businesses as most upcoming projects require a percentage of work be completed by a certified MWDBE. Several hundred businesses were invited to attend and more than sixty firms participated.

  • Harold Interlocking Track Improvements and Reconfiguration

  • PATCO Westmont Train Station Rehabilitation

    Railroad Construction Co. was recently awarded a $12 million contract by the Delaware River Port Authority for the rehabilitation of PATCO’s Westmont Viaduct in Haddon Township, NJ. The 2000’ long viaduct, originally built in 1968, also serves as the Westmont Train Station which handles hundreds of daily PATCO passengers commuting from southern New Jersey into Philadelphia. The rehabilitation of two 2000’ long railroad tracks atop the structure will take place over the course of thirty weekend track outages with one track being removed from service at a time and full service restored by Monday morning.

  • INTRODUCING THE BEAST

    Railroad Construction Co., Inc. is working on a cutting-edge project at Rutgers University’s Livingston Campus in Piscataway, NJ. This innovative project for the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) involves the construction of an accelerated testing facility to measure the effects of environmental and traffic loading on bridges. This Bridge Evaluation and Accelerated Structural Testing lab, known as the BEAST, is the first of its kind.

  • PSE&G Southern Reinforcing Project

    Since May 2014, Railroad Construction Co., Inc. has been working on the civil portion of the Southern Reinforcing Project Segments 8, 10 and 11 for PSE&G. By adding two new 230kV overhead transmission circuits and three new 230kV underground circuits in the South Jersey area, Public Service will increase its electric capacity and transfer capabilities to area businesses and residents, providing better power quality, increasing reliability and reducing transmission system congestion.
